The Fool's Journey Begins

I wish I could say that I felt as carefree as The Fool is on the card, who blissfully ignorant, steps off the cliff, knowing the world is his oyster!

Well, I've certainly stepped off the cliff, complete with a dog (two actually), and the sun at my back.  But unlike the dude in the picture, I'm tired and achy from all the packing and lifting and moving and driving.  And I have a helluva lot more stuff than would fit in a sack at the end of a stick.  But I do trust that I'll be okay.

And I am so very grateful to all the people who helped me - volunteered even - to make this happen.  Lanette  and Diana and Marcy who all helped me pack (seriously - they all volunteered!  And I have learned to say, "Yes, thank you."  And Diana came over multiple times!)  And my brother, Alan, and his wife, Ana, whose house I am staying in right now in Smithfield, VA.  And they volunteered that I could store my stuff in their house.  (How in the world did I accumulate so much stuff in a one-bedroom apartment - and a small one at that?)  And Pat who is joining me for the first part of this journey.  And Laura and Marian and Maria who have had my back for so many years.  And/and/and/and ... so many wonderful people in my life.  Thank you all.  Thank you for telling me, "Yes, Julie!  Go ahead and JUMP!"

I've jumped.

  4. I'm so proud of you. I took a leap too 12 years ago. As I look back, it was the beginning of an amazing journey. So glad I was such a fool!
