Growing up in Cincinnati, I never appreciated the beauty of the
city. Truthfully, I don't think I ever appreciated it until this recent
trip with a friend of mine, when I saw it through "tourist" eyes for
the first time. The downtown especially still has many beautiful old buildings
that haven't been razed to make way for newer, soulless structures.
Brick and stone buildings with curlicues on the molding and windows that
open and doors opening right on the street and tile entryways. Look at our incredible Art Deco train station that is
now our musuem center in addition to the Amtrak station (where one train
comes through at 1:17 am or 3:17 am 6 days a week - closed Monday).

However, the real prize for this trip goes to this sign I saw posted in a bathroom stall:

Below Zero Lounge |

What a fun town this is!
(You can see this sign too at Below Zero Lounge, 1122 Walnut St Cincinnati, OH 45202, where I went for show tunes night with my friend, Meg. For added fun, pile 3 or 4 of your good friends in the stall and see if the Health Department shows up.)
this is *so* good to know...
